The need to solve the problems of errors which is the deviation between what was actually done and what was intended In the health care system cannot be over emphasized.

The patient safety Africa organization is subsumed under the world health organization and aims at ensuring all the various safety techniques and policies which when applied reduces the possible adverse harmful outcomes done on patients.

Hence the Patient Safety Africa organization aims at Raising the best possible standards to save lives by achieving a harm-free care society for patients in Sub-Saharan Africa and Africa at large

Drive forward policies and actions based on science, patient experience, system design and partnerships to eliminate all sources of avoidable risk and harm to patient and Health workers.

The organization over the years has established a research Institute at the Igbenedion  University Okada in Edo state. The aim of the research  institute was not only to critically explore some key topics in patient and Healthcare safety parameters and but also participate in answering the many questions posing challenges and treats on quality care system in Africa( or the Sub-Saharan region as the case may be) and Suggest possible solutions to such questions following the world health organization policy standards, leadership roles and implementation.

The patient safety Africa organization was birthed about few years ago following the many questions resulting from the alarming records of deaths in the Sub-Saharan Africa region compare to other regions of the world. Hence the goal of the patient safety Africa is to achieve the maximum possible reduction in avoidable harm due to unsafe health care in Africa.

The organization over the years has established a research Institute at the Igbenedion University, Okada in Edo state.
